Homeschool Program
We are pleased to announce that Freedom Christian Academy is offering homeschooling options for the 2023-2024 school year! Enrollment is open and there are still slots available.

Our Program
Freedom Christian Academy is a private, non-profit school (Florida Department of Education #5858) located in Florida. We have been providing on-campus services since 2013 and also offers homeschooling options to our students. Families can now choose to register their homeschooler with FCA instead of with the Marion County School Board.
Students registered through our school are considered private school students and are not bound to Florida homeschooling regulations. This means that parents do not need not register or report to their local school board as long as the child is registered with Freedom Christian Academy.
We do not require curriculum to be purchased from us or that a specific one be used. Parents will be able to customize a program best suited for their child's needs. We understand that some children's instructional grade may currently be above or below their grade level in some subjects, and most packaged curriculums will not work well for them. By allowing parents to select and purchase their own materials, it is our hope that our homeschooling program will be more an affordable option for your family and better meet the needs of your student.

Enrollment
Enrollment begins in March of each year for the following school year. We service students in K-12th grade. High school students will also need to submit any information on previously earned credits.
Forms are available to make reporting such information simple.

Senior/twelfth-grade enrollments are closed, except for students who were previously enrolled during the 2022/2023 school year.
Reporting Requirements
Parents must report twice a year for every ninety school days attended. Families will receive two report cards per year; one for each reported period. Parents will complete a reporting form which will indicate the student's current contact information, days attended, study subjects, and grades.
We require samples of the student's work along with the reporting form. Typically five work samples from each subject will suffice.
Parents should also submit a basic lesson plan or journal which was used during the period that they are reporting. Samples, photos, artwork, lesson plans, etc. can be submitted digitally.
We do accept current standardized testing scores in lieu of lesson plans or journals. The reporting form and samples are still required.
Program Fees
Freedom Christian Academy’s fees are annual for the umbrella school program. There are no monthly costs. Fees are good for one calendar year or one grade level, whichever comes first (fee is not reduced for mid-year enrollments). Fees are due at the time of enrollment.
